AZ31B magnesium welding wire (diameter 0.5–5.0 mm) is a high-purity magnesium alloy filler material supplied to ASTM B90 standards. With a magnesium content of up to 99.9%, it is engineered for reliable, high-integrity welding of magnesium alloy components.

Magnesium alloy offers distinct thermal advantages over aluminum alloy. In radiators of identical volume and shape, heat from a given source transfers more readily from the base to the top of a magnesium heat sink than an aluminum one. This produces a larger temperature differential between the base and top of the magnesium radiator, accelerating internal air diffusion and convection and improving overall heat dissipation efficiency. As a result, at the same temperature, magnesium alloy can dissipate heat in roughly half the time required by aluminum alloy.

These properties make magnesium alloy an ideal material for LED and other lighting products, automotive application parts, and components requiring high quality, high strength, and high toughness.

Common magnesium diameters: 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.4 mm, 3.0 mm, 3.2 mm, 4.2 mm, 5 mm, and 6 mm.
